Releasing 30 Keeled Box Turtles back to Nature

We are very pleased to announce that the release of 30 Keeled Box Turtles (Cuora mouhotii) has gone smoothly today (8th June 2017) in Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam. The team has walked a lot of kilometers in the forest to release locations where small groups of animals have been put back out into the wild in suitable habitat. Most of these turtles are just some of those that have been rescued from illegal wildlife trade in Vietnam between 2015 and 2017. All have gone through a period of quarantine and rehabilitation at the Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) in Cuc Phuong National Park. The staffs at the Cuc Phuong Turtle Conservation Center (TCC) and Asian Turtle Program (ATP) are so pleased to see these animals back in their natural habitat and we hope you are too.
